K9: TimeQuake Film

K9: TimeQuake (working title: K9: Genisys) is the big-screen debut of everyone's favourite robot dog K-9.

Having made his TV debut nearly forty years ago in the 1977 Doctor Who serial The Invisible Enemy, K-9 went on to star in such god-tier productions as K-9 and Company and K9. The film has been written by one of K-9’s original creators; Bob Baker, and will also feature (why) Omega (presumably because Baker co-wrote The Three Doctors and must be hanging onto some rights to Omega as well as K-9.) Copyright can be a bewildering matter. Recently Baker revealed that the BBC had no interest adapting the character in the main series feeling that creating new villains or re-using more well known icons such as The Master, Davros, Daleks, Cybermen was more profiteable - hence why they can use Omega.

The film was slated for release in 2017 which will be K-9’s fortieth birthday! Unfortunately it has been delayed till 2018 at the earlies.
